I need a little health reboot. I want to have more energy and just feel better overall. I have been cutting down on the caffeine (Coffee down to Green Tea counts, right?), drinking more water and trying to eat mostly “whole foods.”
Whole Foods had a deal on some cold pressed juices last week, so I grabbed two bottles while I was there. They were definitely tasty, but I kind of thought – what is the point? There weren’t enough vitamins and nutrients to justify the calories and no fiber! Maybe I didn’t choose the right one, but upon reading a bit more about the whole “juicing” thing – the lack of fiber seems to be a problem across the board.
Enter Green Smoothies! These are all the rage right now (ugh, I sound like my mom), they are all over my Feedly and Pinterest. And it isn’t like I subscribe to a bunch of health-blogs or boards, it appears that everyone is just into these!
So, doing a bit of research I came across the Glowing Green Smoothie from Kimberly Snyder. It had so many positive reviews, the ingredients sounded delish and not terribly expensive and I didn’t need anything fancier than a blender (and knife) to make it. Fantastic!
So I blended up a batch yesterday… and it is amazing!!! I loved it. Didn’t have to get used to the taste because I liked it right off the bat. Totally filled me up until lunch time and I had energy all day! The smoothie also kept well in the fridge and didn’t get all gross and separate. Plus, it really is a beautiful bright green color – not all sludgy.
